SAN FRANCISCO - An electric scooter's lithium battery may have caused a one-alarm fire in the Tenderloin early Tuesday morning, according to fire officials.
The blaze was reported about 6 a.m. on the 600 block of Ellis Street.
Someone on the top floor in room 601 called 911 to say that the scooter plugged in overnight could have started the fire, Fire Lt. Mariano Elias told KTVU.
San Francisco firefighters sent up a ladder to conduct rescues.
There were no immediate reports of injury.
