Elton John says he has lost his eyesight
Elton John revealed Sunday that he still cannot see, months after contracting a severe eye infection.
The singer-songwriter shared his health update as he attended the opening night of his new musical, "The Devil Wears Prada."
Speaking on stage during the gala in London, which was also a fundraiser for the Elton John AIDS Foundation, he told the audience that he’s had trouble seeing the play, for which he wrote the score.

"I haven’t been able to come to many of the previews because, as you know, I have lost my eyesight," he shared.
"So it’s hard for me to see it, but I love to hear it and, boy, it sounded good tonight," he added.

John, 77, disclosed in September that an infection had left him "with only limited vision in one eye."
He wrote on Instagram that "I am healing, but it’s an extremely slow process and it will take some time before sight returns to the impacted eye."

‘The Devil Wears Prada’ musical
"The Devil Wears Prada" musical is a new stage play opening in London that’s based on the cult classic film and bestselling novel of the same name.
The movie starred Meryl Streep as the fearsome fashion editor Miranda Priestly, alongside Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt.
Actress Vanessa Williams stars in the stage adaptation as Priestly.
The show is playing at the Dominion Theater through October 2025.
Fashion-industry figures including designer Donatella Versace and former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, the rumored inspiration for the Priestly character, attended Sunday’s gala.
