FREMONT, Calif. - Fremont police on Tuesday asked the public to stay away from an intersection because of a shootout between two cars.
Sgt. Kim MacDonald said that 911 calls came in at 9:45 a.m. about a shooting at Stevenson Boulevard and Albrae Street off Interstate 880.
When officers got there, they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound. That person was taken to the hospital.
Earlier reports indicated that the shooting was between people in two cars.
SkyFox flew over the scene, showing one white car that was riddled with bullets.
"Based on preliminary investigation, this is an isolated incident, and there are no threats to the public," police said in a press release on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers released very few additional details about the case, and said it was being treated as an active and ongoing investigation.
