5-acre fire in Hayward hills near Cal State East Bay contained
A fire broke out in the Hayward hills near the Cal State East Bay campus on Aug. 4, 2023.
HAYWARD, Calif. - A fire that blazed in the Hayward hills on Harder Road near Cal State East Bay on Friday has been contained, the Hayward Fire Department announced.
The vegetation fire was estimated to be about five acres and no evacuations were ordered.
"Crews will be on scene mopping up for some time," Hayward fire officials said.
