FREMONT, Calif. - Fremont police say they fatally shot a suspect on Wednesday who was believed to be responsible for shooting and wounding a victim at the Southlake Mobile Home.
Police said at around 5:19 p.m., patrol officers responded to reports of a shooting at the mobile home park at 43832 Fremont Boulevard. The shooting victim was transported to a local hospital, police said. Their condition was not made available.
About 45 minutes later, an officer spotted a man in the same area who matched the description of the suspect, police said.
Capt. Eric Tang said the officer fired his service weapon at the shooting suspect, who was armed with a handgun. He was pronounced dead at 6:23 p.m., Tang said.
No further details about the incident were immediately available.
