SAN FRANCISCO - A French bulldog was stolen from its owner New Year's Day during a robbery in San Francisco's Marina District, police say.
SFPD say "Rosie", a nine-month-old dog was out on a walk with its owner at 10:05 a.m. Saturday. According to police, a suspect approached the pair "violently" at Broderick and Beach streets and then robbed the dog from the owner.
The suspect fled with dog in tow in a silver Chrysler 200 with partial plate 7JPM.
Police released additional details and said the suspect went up to the victim and grabbed the leash. "The suspect yanked on the leash with enough force to cause Rosie to go into the air, ultimately dragging the puppy into the car," police said.
A description of the suspect was not given.
The owner is now offering a no-questions asked reward of $10,000 for the return of their dog.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 415-575-4444 or text a tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the beginning of the message.
