STOCKTON, Calif. - A German Shepherd who was shot and dumped in a Stockton field, is now looking for a loving home.
"Trooper" was given his name because he's just that.
He was picked up by Animal Control and taken to a shelter where he was placed on a list to be euthanized.
Golden State German Shepherd Rescue stepped in, and has been fostering him for over a year.
The gunshot wound forced veterinarians to amputate Trooper's leg, but his foster family says he has no problem getting around.
They say he is sweet and full of personality, yet because of his disability, they feel people have been hesitant to adopt him.
