SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU/BCN) - Gunshots were fired from a handgun early this morning near a park in San Francisco's Mission District, according to police.
The shooting was reported at 2:50 a.m. in the 3100 block of 26th Street, near Garfield Square park.
Police said their officers responded to shot spotter activity and when officers arrived they found bullet casings in the area.
Officers did not see any damage to vehicles or buildings, police said.
A witness told police that a gunshot woke him up. The witness also said he saw a person driving a vehicle and fire once into the air.
The suspect then drove away, heading east on 26th Street, according to police.
