CONCORD, Calif. - An injured hawk was rescued in Concord thanks to a concerned citizen and the Concord police.
The hawk was found Thursday near the 1800 block of Elkwood Drive.
According to the Concord Police Department, the hawk was in distress and unable to fly.
An officer and citizen were able to get the bird into the officer's patrol car and it was taken to the Lindsay Wildlife Museum hospital in Walnut Creek.
Concord police say the malnourished hawk is a juvenile suffering from an injured wrist and parasites.
Caretakers are treating it with antibiotics and hope it will make a full recovery.
