Hayward man drowns in American River near Sacramento

RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. - A Hayward man has been identified as the person who drowned near Sacramento over the weekend.

The coroner's office says 32-year-old Kelvin Felarca drowned on Saturday in the American River near Rancho Cordova in Sacramento County.

Authorities say he was not wearing a life jacket.

Sacramento County Sheriff's divers found his body about 100 yards downstream from where he first entered the water.
