ANTIOCH, Calif. - Bear spray was released into a craft store in Antioch Wednesday, causing a hazmat situation.
At least 69 people were treated for breathing problems, watery eyes, and skin irritation at the Hobby Lobby store on Lone Tree Way, according to the Contra Costa County fire officials. Three of the 69 have been transported to a hospital.
Contra Costa Fire said that according to store managers, there was an altercation, and the suspect set off a canister of bear spray as they were trying to escape.
ConFire said the store is now safe for employees and customers.
No arrests so far have been announced.
