MT. DIABLO, Calif. - If you're looking for a fast and cheap destination wedding, strap on your hiking shoes and head 4,000 feet upwards.
The Contra Costa County clerk recorder is allowing couples to get married at the summit of Mount Diablo on Friday from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m.
The clerk will offer a total of 16 appointments and as of early Friday, slots were still available. The fee for the marriage ceremony is $60 and a marriage license costs $86.
Weddings will be performed on the observation deck, from which San Francisco and the Sierra foothills can be seen on a clear day. (Brides, we were just kidding about the hiking shoes.)
