LOS ANGELES - You’ve heard the harsh truth: the only way to really prevent a hangover is not to drink at all. But, the party animal that is “science” refuses to accept that. Professor and neuroscientist Dr. David Nutt of Imperial College London has developed a “hangover-free” alcohol known as “alcosynth.”
Created in a lab, Dr. Nutt says the drink gives you all the social lubrication, but none of the physical misery the following day. And he claims there will be no damage to your liver or you heart.
Sound like a dream? There’s one thing it won’t stop. Any consequences from bad decisions-- well, you’ll still have to deal with those. You’ll just be doing it with a clear head.
Dr. Nutt says the drink is a long time coming. Scientists have done a lot of research on the effects of alcohol on the brain, and people are interested in healthier beverages. He believes alcosynth could replace regular alcohol by the year 2050.
It’s a little too soon to start toasting the end of hangovers and we don’t think the wine or craft beer industry is in any trouble- but consider us intrigued. Party on, Professor.
