KTVU's Mornings team visited Santa Rosa, the largest city in the North Bay, for the second Zip Trip this year. As always, we explored the local history and culture, checked out great places to eat, and tested what the locals know about Santa Rosa. Plus, we caught up with a city native who's stepped into the limelight for his shoe designs.
SANTA ROSA, Calif. - KTVU Mornings on 2: The Nine went on a special "Zip Trip" to Santa Rosa for a show that highlighted the city's beloved restaurants, bars, and local talent.
Viewers saw a showcase of some of Santa Rosa's favorite culinary hotspots and watering holes. The full show will be available here shortly.
The show pointed a spotlight on a Santa Rosa native who has carved a niche for himself as a successful shoe designer, stepping into the limelight and making waves in the fashion industry.
Plus, viewers were quizzed about the largest city in the North Bay region.
The backdrop was the city's historic Old Courthouse Square.
Santa Rosa: Bay Area's 5th biggest city is gateway to wine country
Santa Rosa is the largest city in the North Bay and the fifth largest in the Bay Area with 170,000 residents. The city has been hit hard twice by earthquakes. But in rebuilding it has become a hub for tourists exploring nearby Wine Country while becoming a destination in its own right for the famous Russian River Brewery's specialty beer.
