Tiny home village opening in Oakland

Lakeview Village will open today for up to 65 unhoused residents at the largest parcel of city-owned land in District 2.

A tiny home village in Oakland will open for the homeless, city leaders announced on Monday.

The city calls it the first large-scale tiny home village with space for 65 people on the largest parcel of city-owned land near Lake Merritt, in District 2.

Oakland is teaming up with the Housing Consortium of the East Bay to build and manage the village.
