Live grenade found behind Fairfield business, police say

FAIRFIELD, Calif. (KTVU) - Police said they discovered a live grenade near a business in Fairfield on Thursday. 

The weapon was located at the rear of the building in the 600 block of Beck Ave. near Cadenasso Drive. 

Authorities said the explosive device belongs to Travis Air Force Base and they are trying to determine how it ended up behind the business. 

Police evacuated the area but later deemed it safe.

No one was injured.
