Lockdown at 3 San Francisco schools lifted

Officials have lifted a lockdown at two San Francisco schools after the possibility of a bomb threat at a nearby high school prompted the order, officials said.

The lockdown for Presidio Middle School and Lafayette Elementary School was lifted about 1:30 p.m. Normal school operations resumed and students were expected to be released from campus at their usual dismissal time.

Around 10:45 a.m., school officials at George Washington High School, located at 599 30th Ave., received a call from a person who said they were near the school and had a bomb, San Francisco Unified School District officials said.

Police sealed a perimeter around the high school and refused access to the campus while they investigated the threat. Students at George Washington were sent home around 12:30 p.m. No injuries were reported. Officials have not said if anything was found to substantiate the bomb threat at George Washington High.
