Man arrested on suspicion of beating elderly woman to death

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. (KTVU) - An 18-year-old man in Sacramento County is scheduled to be arraigned in court on Monday on suspicion of beating an 86-year-old woman to death and injuring her 61-year-old friend.

Neven Butler is facing sexual assault and murder charges.

Investigators say he violently attacked 86-year-old Fusako Petrus and her 61-year-old friend as they walked around a high school track on Wednesday morning.

Hours later, Butler was arrested on suspicion of attacking a 92-year-old woman.

He appeared in court yesterday for that attack. 

Butler is a former student of the school where the two women were attacked.

The school district says Butler last attended the school in December before dropping out. He is being held without bail.Man arrested on suspicion of beating elderly woman to death
