Man in black Jeep stalks girls leaving school in North Bay, police warn
SANTA ROSA, Calif. - A man in a black Jeep with body damage has been seen stalking girls from his car as they left school in Santa Rosa, police said.
The department said the most recent event was reported on Friday at about 4:30 p.m. near Lemur Street and Providence Court after someone called them about a suspicious vehicle following a group of girls as they left campus for the day.
According to witnesses, the Jeep driver would pull up slowly alongside the girls, occasionally driving in reverse so he could ride alongside the girls’ path, police said.
The driver would also wave at the girls, and was also seen gesturing for at least one of the girls to get into the back seat of his Jeep, police said.
He never spoke to them, police said, but played loud pop music that teenage girls usually like, police said.
Police described the driver as a 25-year-old white man with light brown hair, standing 5 feet 5 inches in height, and weighing approximately 120 to 130 pounds. The Jeep is a four-door 2008 Cherokee with damage to the left rear quarter panel.
It appears as though none of the girls got into the Jeep, but police reminded the public to talk to children about stranger danger.
