Man charged in Oakland double homicide

Here's KTVU crime reporter Henry Lee's Rap Sheet blog for July 17, 2017:

MAN CHARGED IN DOUBLE HOMICIDE: A Stockton man has been arrested and charged in connection with a double homicide in Oakland, court records show.

Antonio Belvine Jr., 37, has been implicated in the shooting deaths of Pedro Gonzalez Sanchez, 32, and Jose Dario Gameros Alvarado, 27, both of Oakland.

The victims were found inside a vehicle on the 9500 block of Birch Street about 5:45 p.m. June 11. They died at the scene.

Investigators, while not discussing a motive, identified Belvine as the suspect with the help of witnesses, police said. He was arrested July 12 at his Stockton home.

Alameda County prosecutors charged Belvine with two counts of murder, weapons enhancements and the special circumstance of multiple murder. Belvine could be eligible for the death penalty should prosecutors seek it later. He was also charged with assault with a semiautomatic firearm, shooting at an occupied motor vehicle and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

He has prior convictions for commercial burglary, possession of concentrated cannabis and possession for sale of a controlled substance.
