Man identified in fatal Monday night SF SoMa shooting

A man fatally shot in San Francisco's South of Market neighborhood late Monday night has been identified by the medical examiner's office as 32-year-old Damien Maxwell.
   
Officers responded at 11:33 p.m. to the area of Sixth and Minna streets after hearing shots fired and found Maxwell, who had been shot twice, police said.
   
He was taken to a hospital but died while en route, according to police.
   
No suspect information was immediately being released in connection with the shooting. Anyone with information about the case is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text message to TIP411 with "SFPD" in the message.
