SAN FRANCISCO - A man aboard a San Francisco-bound flight from South Korea pleaded guilty to sexual assault of another passenger, federal officials said Monday.
Rajesh Kumar Kapoor of Sacramento admitted to authorities he touched a woman's breasts and inner thigh without her permission with the intent to harass her on the Jan. 16 flight, federal officials said.
The 57-year-old was indicted nearly two months ago following the incident on March 13. Kapoor pleaded guilty to abusive sexual contact. His sentence is scheduled for March 27, 2025, and faces up to two years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

"Sexual assault has no place in our society, not on the ground and not in the skies. Airline passengers should not have to fear sexual assault while traveling," U.S. Attorney Ismail J. Ramsey said in a statement. "These assaults are federal crimes, and I urge the public to report them to law enforcement so they can be investigated and prosecuted."
