SAN FRANCISCO - San Francisco could soon name a street after the symphony's former director, Michael Tilson Thomas.
The renowned conductor was appointed music director in 1995 and led the symphony for 25 years.
On Tuesday, Mayor London Breed proposed designating the block of Grove Street between Franklin Street and Van Ness Avenue at Davies Symphony Hall ‘MTT Way.’
Breed called Tilson Thomas a "vital part of the cultural makeup of the city."
