Mountain Lion caught on camera roaming San Mateo neighborhood
SAN MATEO, Calif. (KTVU) - San Mateo police are warning residents after a home surveillance video captured a mountain lion roaming a neighborhood Sunday.
The feline was spotted walking along a sidewalk in the 400 block of 22nd Avenue around 4 a.m.
Officers say the animal didn't display predatory behavior and never acted aggressively.
Police conducted a search through the area but were unable to locate the mountain lion.
Authorities want to remind residents to never approach a mountain lion and don't run if you encounter one. Instead, face the animal, make noise and try to look bigger by waving your arms.
