Shooting at Napa apartment complex

Napa police cordoned off an apartment complex following a Thursday shooting.

The Napa Police Department reported the shooting, which happened in the 700 block of Lincoln Avenue, at 11:07 a.m.

Police issued an alert shortly after 12:45 p.m. asking people to avoid the area while officers investigated the shooting.

Officials have yet to provide details regarding the circumstances leading up to the shooting or confirm any injuries.

Later the same day, Napa police posted that Kennedy Park was closed due to police activity. The public was asked to avoid the area.

It is not clear if the two incidents involving police are related.

A witness to the latter incident, who wanted to remain anonymous, said they filmed a chase involving multiple law enforcement agencies at the park at around 1:39 p.m. Multiple law enforcement vehicles were seen trailing a black car as it pulled into a parking lot.

In another video taken from the vantage point of the skate park near Kennedy park, a helicopter can be seen circling overhead as the scene unfolds.

We will update this story as we learn the latest details.
