Johnny and June Bug are both around 8-months-old and were found with their mother, Daisy, roaming the streets looking for food. They both are incredibly sweet, shy and social little pups. They are calm with people and playful with each other.

Kahlua, a 9-month-old Bull Terrier/Cattledog mix, was adopted during the St. Pitty's Day Adoptathon and then returned, as her new parents weren't ready for the responsibility of a puppy. She had been at another shelter for nearly 5 months and now is in foster care with one of our staff members. Because the adopters didn't want their money back, there is no adoption fee for her! She is gentle and plays with other dogs, both big and small and she likes cats and kids.

Daisy is a 6-8 month old female Chihuahua mix. She was surrendered to the shelter by her owner on 02/14/15 because he had too many dogs and could no longer care for them all. Daisy is a sweet girl but very shy and has been a bit more fearful since her brother is no longer with her, having been adopted recently. She appears to want to play with toys but seems unsure how. Daisy needs a loving home with a family who will give her lots of love and attention. Daisy is available for adoption at the Hayward Animal Shelter, 16 Barnes Ct. Hayward, CA. 510-293-7200.

Darla is a 1.5 year old female Staffordshire Terrier mix. She was found wandering the streets of Hayward on 01/10/15. Thankfully a Good Samaritan found her and brought her to the Hayward Animal Shelter. Sadly, no one came to claim her. Darla is 45 lbs of love who enjoys giving kisses.

Louie is a stunning gray and white Pit Bull mix, about 1-year-old. He has been hanging out in our shelter since 02/05/15. Found wandering the streets of Hayward, a Good Samaritan found him and brought him in. Louie likes to play with toys. He will need some basic obedience training as he will often jump up on you for attention and because of this he would be best suited in a home with kids over 13 years old . Louie would love an active family that enjoys taking long walks.

Bella Marie was surrendered to the Hayward Animal Shelter on 2/14/15 when her owner was unable to obtain necessary medical care for a problem that required treatment. Thanks to generous donations received from members of the community, Hayward Animal Shelter was able to get her the treatment she needed. Bella Marie is now fully recovered and eagerly waiting for a new family to love. She is a little over a year old, loves to play and appears to get along well with other dogs.

Mabel is a two year old female Cairn Terrier mix. She was found wandering the streets of Hayward by a Good Samaritan who brought her to the shelter on 3/3/15. Poor Mabel was in rough shape and in need of some attention. She has a yeast and bacterial infection on her skin that is currently being treated as well as an ear infection. Despite missing some fur around her hind end she is still beautiful inside and out. If you're looking for a low energy type of dog, Mabel is the girl for you. Mabel is a little scared at first but is still very sweet and enjoys attention.

Moose is a little over a year old and is some type of Poodle mix. He has a luxurious cream color coat that he would love for you to run your fingers through. Moose is quite obvious in what he wants, rolling over insisting you rub his belly. He has only been in the shelter since 3/17/15, brought in by a Good Samaritan who found him wandering the streets of Hayward. If you know who his owners are please let them know he is waiting for them at the Hayward Animal Shelter. Moose is available for adoption.

Sweet June Bug is a friendly little girl. She is a one year old Border Terrier mix who was found wandering the streets of Hayward on 3/3/15. Thankfully a Good Samaritan picked her up and brought her to the Hayward Animal Shelter. June Bug was quite shy when she came in but is blossoming. She seeks positive attention, is very interested in other dogs and would likely do very well in a home with a doggie brother or sister.

When Rigby first came to the shelter on 2/14/15 he was a very scared boy who shied away from attention. Overtime, with some love and socializing from his Hayward Animal Shelter friends he quickly came out of his shell. Now this sweet boy wants nothing more than to play and be loved. Rigby is a cute, 1.5 years old male tan colored Chihuahua with an interesting kink in his tail.

Sammy and Chester were found near an 880 off ramp in Hayward by a Good Samaritan on 3/18/15. Who knows how they got there but we are thankful they were picked up and brought to the Hayward Animal Shelter safe and sound. Sammy and Chester are 2 month old Chihuahua/Terrier mixes. We would love to see them go to a home together. They have had their first vaccinations but will need more because they are so young. They will be available for adoption at the Hayward Animal Shelter on 3/24/15.
