OAKLEY, Calif. - Tensions and unrest flared at two high schools on Monday, after a weekend shooting at a house party in Oakley left a 16-year-old boy dead and three other teenagers injured.
"I immediately heard 6 shots go off, immediately, rapid gunfire, called 911 reported there was gunfire. It was like chaos after the gunshots went off," said Dustin Lewis, who lives a couple doors down from where the shooting erupted.
The shooting happened at a home on Shannon Way at about 11:15 p.m. Saturday About a half-hour earlier, Oakley police had stopped by, warning that a party there was too loud. After officers left, dozens of teens crashed the event.

Lewis said, "Twenty or 30 kids that showed up at the party, they were not invited, or were not able to get in through the front door, and so they broke around the side gate, got around the back, and that's when all hell broke loose."
The slain 16-year-old died at the scene. Injured were a 16-year-old girl who has since been released from a hospital, and two boys, ages 15 and 16, who were still being treated for their injuries, said Oakley Police Chief Paul Beard.
The victim who died was a student at Liberty High School in Brentwood, where there was a visible police presence on Monday.
Ebony Chappale's son dodged bullets, and it was his friend who was killed.
"He said he ran, ran away and started hiding somewhere because all he heard was this shooting," Chappale said. "I told him from that today, no more house parties."
At Freedom High in Oakley, just blocks from where the deadly shooting happened, there were rumors that there could be a shooting on campus Monday.
Oakley police sent additional officers to the school. Some parents wanted to keep their students home for the day.
But in a message to parents, Freedom High Principal Steve Amaro said Oakley police could not find any validity to what he called an "unsubstantiated rumor."
Oakley police said they are scouring surveillance video and analyzing five spent 9mm shell casings in hopes of identifying the shooter, who they say acted alone.
