New Year's Eve sideshows in Oakland, Vallejo erupt in fireworks, fiery cars
OAKLAND, Calif. - Police in Oakland and Vallejo spent New Year's Eve rushing to sideshows where participants lit off fireworks and set a car on fire.
In Vallejo, police broke up a sideshow about 2 a.m. Wednesday at Kentucky and Alameda streets.
Another sideshow happened in Oakland just before 3 a.m. Wednesday on MacArthur Boulevard and Markey Street.
At one point, a car dangerously spun into the crowd, video shows.
Spectators also shot fireworks into the air and set a car on fire. Two young men are also seen dancing and hopping on the roof of a car.
Police have not said whether there were any arrests or injuries.
