Oakland A's announce new membership program for fans
OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland A's announced today that they will no longer offer traditional season tickets and will have a new membership program for fans starting next season.
The A's Access program will provide members with general admission access to every home game, as well as offering a reserved seat plan and benefits that include discounts on concessions and merchandise.
"To better meet the evolving needs of our fans, we are changing our approach to membership," A's chief operating officer Chris Giles said in a statement. "This flexible model is designed to serve both fans who want a more traditional reserved seat plan and those who desire a more flexible and
social experience."
All seat plans held by current season ticket members can be renewed under the A's Access program, according to the team.
Memberships will go on sale this Friday at 9 a.m. and people can find out more information by visiting www.athletics.com/2019.
People who purchase a membership for 2019 will also have the first opportunity to purchase 2018 postseason tickets if the A's advance beyond the
regular season.
Oakland is currently two games behind Seattle for the final American League wild card berth into the playoffs.
