Oakland-bound flight forced to make emergency landing

An Alaska Airlines flight on the way to Oakland from Seattle was forced on Sunday to make an emergency landing just minutes after taking off.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Boeing 737 quickly changed course when one of its two engines suddenly shut down.

The flight safely returned to the Seattle-Tacoma airport.

The cause of the engine failure is still being investigated.

No injuries were reported.
