What we know:
The incident occurred around 11 a.m. in the 500 block of 85th Avenue, near the Oakland Coliseum DMV.
Officers were called to the area to investigate a report of two unresponsive people inside a car. When they arrived, they contacted the occupants and learned the vehicle had a stolen license plate, according to the Oakland Police Department.
Officers attempted to detain the driver, but the suspect took off and collided with a marked patrol car. Two officers were injured as the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
What we don't know:
Authorities did not specify whether the injured officers were inside or outside the patrol car when they were hit.
The police department has not said whether the suspect has been captured.
