Oakland officer involved in early morning crash

OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - An Oakland police vehicle crashed in Oakland early Friday morning. 

The crash occurred in the 4200 block of Broadway. 

The officer was trying to pull someone over. We're told a separate driver was confused and moved to the left, forcing the officer into the center divide. The officer then hit a light pole and a tree. 

The officer was taken to the hospital. A KTVU crew at the scene is told the officer was OK but shaken up.
