Oakland Roots soccer team has outgrown Laney College

OAKLAND, Calif. - The Oakland Roots and Oakland Soul will now explore the development of a new stadium.

Officials for the soccer teams say they're outgrowing the stadium at Laney College and have been working hard to explore solutions to create a permanent home for professional soccer in Oakland. 

Oakland Roots SC has been promoted to a higher division league; the USL championship.

The women's team, Oakland SC, will begin play next year.
