Officer-involved shooting ruled accidental in Paradise

There's outrage about a police shooting, and the decision by the district attorney not to prosecute the officer.

The shooting occurred in the town of Paradise about 90-minutes north of Sacramento,

Police dashcam video, from early on Thanksgiving morning, shows Paradise police officer Patrick Feaster chasing a suspected drunk driver, who lost control of his car.

It flipped over, and the passenger was killed.

The video then shows the police officer walking toward the car and appears to shoot the driver twice.

The driver may now be paralyzed, according to doctors.

The district attorney, who released the video, does not plan to charge officer Feaster.

The district attorney concludes that Feaster accidentally fired his gun once, and what looked like a second muzzle flash, was really a reflection from a flashlight.

Officials say the blood alcohol level of the suspect was almost twice the legal limit, and he faces charges of vehicular manslaughter for the death of the passenger, who was his wife.
