Police suspect shooting outside of San Francisco strip club was targeted

Police suspect the shooting outside a San Francisco strip club Sunday night that left one person dead and three others wounded believe was targeted.

Police in San Francisco are investigating a mass shooting in the North Beach neighborhood.

One person was killed and four were wounded by the gunfire, police said.

The shooting happened just past 11:30 p.m. on Sunday in the area of Broadway and Columbus, outside The Condor Club, a popular strip club.

The victims have not yet been identified, but the person who was killed was a 23-year-old man from Solano County, according to San Francisco police.

The people wounded in the shooting were two 24-year-old men from Sacramento County, a 22-year-old man from Alameda County and a 20-year-old woman from Contra Costa County, police said.

A tourist, visiting from Great Britain told KTVU there were as many as a dozen gunshots.

Police said they found a gun nearby outside a liquor store.

Mother, 13-year-old daughter fatally shot in Oakland

A 13-year-old girl and her mother were shot and killed last night at an apartment in East Oakland.

Police have not released any information about a possible suspect, or what may have led up to the shooting. However, they do believe it was a targeted attack.

The Condor Club's managers said the strip club was not connected to the shooting.

"The Condor Club was not involved. A woman who was injured made her way to the entrance and we brought her inside to assist her while waiting for the police to arrive. We are cooperating fully with the SFPD investigation and will assist in any way possible," their statement said.

Witnesses recorded video of the shooting's aftermath, which showed the victim lying in the middle of Columbus Avenue.

Wayne Mitchell said he heard the shots and ran outside the bar to see the violent scene unfolding.

"I heard gunshots. Looked outside, saw a black SUV and a guy had shot this guy on a scooter and he was trying to drag him back into the SUV. The body was limp, he couldn't do it, so he just left him," Mitchell said.

Mitchell said officers tried to revive the man, but he died at the scene.

The North Beach Business Association said in past years' violence in the area was not uncommon, but it has been years since the area experienced that level of violence.

"There really hasn't been hardly any of these types of incidences really since before the pandemic. Is it worrisome? Of course, but I don't think this is a pattern or a trend," said Mike Zwiefelhofer of North Beach Business Association.
