One dead, two injured after San Leandro car crash
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (KTVU) - A crash in San Leandro left one person is dead and two others seriously hurt.
Police say the car was speeding down Callan Avenue.They say it's not clear why the driver didn't turn when it reached the gates of Bancroft Middle School and are still investigating.
San Leandro Police Department Lieutenant Ted Henderson says, “For unknown reasons, did not stop for the intersection, continued and collided to a wall at Bancroft Middle School. Right now we have confirmed that we have one person deceased and two others were transported to local hospitals.”
Police are not releasing any information about the people in the car, except to say they were all female.
The crash is not expected to affect classes at the school tomorrow.
