One person dies in San Francisco fire
SAN FRANCISCO - One person died Monday after an early-morning fire in San Francisco, firefighters said.
Crews were called out about 5:30 a.m. to a building in the Tenderloin District on Leavenworth Street and Geary Boulevard.
Firefighters said they were able to put out the one-alarm fire and rescue one person.
The person was listed in critical condition, but nearly an hour later, that person died, firefighters said.
"Law enforcement and fire investigators remain on scene to determine a cause of this fire," the fire department said.
