One person hospitalized, one arrested after Hwy 24 collision
LAFAYETTE, Calif. (KTVU and wires) -- One person is in the hospital and one person is in custody after a traffic collision on eastbound state Highway 24 in Lafayette Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The first report of the collision on state Highway 24 just east of Pleasant Hill Road came in at 3 a.m., according to the CHP. Medical personnel took a person to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with major injuries and CHP officers arrested another person after the collision, CHP Officer Eric Anderson said.
Anderson could not say what officers arrested the person for.
CHP officials closed three lanes of eastbound state Highway 24 just east of Pleasant Hill Road for about two hours, according the CHP. CHP officials issued a Sig-alert at 3:12 a.m. and canceled the alert at 5:19 a.m.
