LOS GATOS, Calif. (KTVU) - Parents who have taken their children to the Sutter Health Palo Alto Medical Foundation's Los Gatos pediatric clinic received a letter about possible issues with vaccines.

According to the letter from Palo Alto Medical Foundation, there was an equipment failure at the pediatric office located at 2577 Samaritan Drive.

Between February of 2014 and March of 2015 one of the vaccine refrigerators was not holding temperatures consistently in the range in which vaccines are best stored.

Due to the temperature issue, there is concern the vaccines may not offer optimal protection.

Although it's unclear how the temperature fluctuations may have impacted the vaccines, Palo Alto Medical Foundation is putting together "no cost" options for impacted families to consider.

According to Palo Alto Medical Foundation, children will not have side effects from having more than one of the vaccines. "Our priority is to make certain that your child has the complete protection intended by vaccine that was administered," according to the letter.

Impacted patients will be receiving letters regarding the next steps to take over the next several weeks.
