Pedestrian fatally injured in Walnut Creek collision

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - A pedestrian died after a traffic collision in northeast Walnut Creek on Friday morning, police said.   

The pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on westbound Ygnacio Valley Road, just east of Oak Grove Road, about 6:25 a.m., police said on social media.   

The driver called 911, stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, police said.
