Pedestrian killed while crossing I-680 in San Ramon

Lanes of 680 of in San Ramon were closed early Monday after a woman was struck and killed while trying to cross the freeway.

A woman was killed while crossing a freeway in San Ramon early Monday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The pedestrian was struck and killed in the southbound lanes before 1 a.m., authorities said.

The collision occurred near Bollinger Canyon Road.

Southbound lanes were closed to traffic while authorities investigated.

The woman's identity has not been released.
