Petaluma Cattlemens closing after 54 years

The Cattlemens restaurant in Petaluma will serve its last meal on Tuesday, the last day of 2024.

The popular steakhouse is closing after 54 years on Petaluma Boulevard North.

It was one of three Cattlemens locations in the Bay Area. A second location in Santa Rosa closed in 2022, while another Cattlemens in Rohnert Park remains open.

A Cattlemens' spokesperson said the Petaluma property was recently sold and the restaurant was not given the choice to continue operations.

Last year, the city approved a plan to demolish the building and build a Chick-Fil-A., according to the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

The staff has been offered transfers to other Cattlemens' locations.
