Plane makes emergency landing at old Alameda naval base
ALAMEDA, Calif. - A small aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at an abandoned naval base in Alameda, fire officials said.
The Alameda Fire Department reported that at 10:26 a.m., a single-prop airplane with two people on board had to make an emergency landing on an airstrip at the shuttered Naval Air Station Alameda.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the plane was a single-engine Cessna C152. The agency said the pilot reported experiencing engine trouble as it was headed to Palo Alto Airport.
The plane landed safely, and there were no injuries.
