Police in Sunnyvale arrested two people they believe were attempting in a skimming scam at a gas station.

Early Friday morning, police were still on scene at World Gasoline on Maude Avenue.

Investigators were checking every single pump to see if any card skimmers have been attached after arresting two suspects they believe were trying to install the illegal card readers at World Gas.

Police were called  around midnight after getting some reports of suspicious activity.
When they arrived they were able to take one person into custody. They later found a second suspect nd recovered their car about half a block away.

Skimmers can steal personal data off a credit or debit card’s magnetic stripe.

The gas station was closed at the time that police were called out–and it remains closed – while they investigate.
