Police investigate armed robbery at Oakland gas station

The Oakland Police Department is investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday morning on High Street, officials said.

The victim told police he was getting gas at a station in the 600 block of High Street when a person approached them, entered their car, and stole their belongings.

Police said when the victim tried to intervene, the suspect showed their gun, and out of fear, the victim backed down and allowed the suspect to take their things. 

The suspect fled in a car with the victim's belongings, though police did not share a description of the vehicle.
