Victim dies from injuries sustained in San Jose shooting

The San Jose Police Department reported Wednesday a man in a shooting Tuesday afternoon has died from their injuries.

Police said the shooting happened at 12:48 p.m. at the intersection of Capitol Expressway and Monterey Road. Officers found the unidentified victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound. 

The off-ramp to Monterey Road was closed for several hours while police investigated.

Police said the victim's identity will be made once the next of kin is notified. 

This shooting marks San Jose's 27th homicide for the year.
