53-year-old man shot and killed in Concord, police investigating

Police in Concord are investigating a Tuesday night homicide. 

In a post on social media on Wednesday, the Concord Police Department said at around 9 p.m., dispatch received several calls about multiple gunshots heard and a person on the ground in the area of Oak Grove Road and Pear Drive. 

Officers who arrived on the scene found a 53-year-old man with several gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. 

KTVU's cameras arrived during the aftermath and captured a number of patrol cars at the scene. 

Officers and crime scene tape were seen in the area at around 10:30 p.m. 

In their news release, police said there were no immediate public safety concerns, but they did not indicate that a suspect was arrested. No suspect information was provided. 

Police said they were actively investigating the case.
