MILLBRAE, Calif. - A woman is in critical condition after being hit by a taxi Friday morning in Millbrae.
Just before 5 a.m., police responded to a call of a pedestrian hit crossing El Camino Real.
The woman was taken to a local hospital in critical condition, and was undergoing emergency surgery.
Police say a taxi traveling southbound, near Sylvan hit the woman and didn't stop.
The suspect was caught by Burlingame police as he was allegedly about to enter a car wash at a Valero gas station shortly after fleeing scene
The taxi cab was towed for evidence. Police are not releasing the name of the taxi company or driver.
