Popular Camp Galileo files for bankruptcy
OAKLAND, Calif. - A popular summer camp for children is filing for bankruptcy.
Camp Galileo, based in Oakland, which operates camps across the country, including 70 Bay Area locations, announced this week it was filing for Chapter 11.
Galileo let go of many of its employees when it was forced to cancel programs because of shelter-in-place orders.
The company says it could not keep up with refund requests and had no other practical choice.
