Biden: Results of California recall will be felt nationally

President Joe Biden was in Long Beach to urge Californians to support Gavin Newsom for Tuesday's upcoming Recall Election.

President Joe Biden is making his long-touted visit to California on Monday in support of Gov. Gavin Newsom, with the pair expected to campaign in Long Beach as the gubernatorial recall election enters its final hours.

Air Force One arrives in Long Beach

President Joe Biden arrives in Long Beach via the Air Force One.

Officials warn those traveling through the area should expect traffic delays throughout the city from Monday morning through Tuesday afternoon. 

The governor and Biden appeared together in Long Beach Monday, for what was the campaign's "final rally against the Republican recall."

Prior to his appearance, Long Beach Mayor Robert Garcia reacted to the news on Twitter, writing, "Looking forward to welcoming President @JoeBiden and Governor @GavinNewsom to Long Beach on Monday."

Garcia tweeted a short time earlier, "We are going to do everything we can to beat this recall over the next few days -- and we are creating a national roadmap for Democrats to win in 2022. Take on anti-vaxxers, defend mask mandates, stand up for science and protect public health."

Newsom campaigned in Northern California on Wednesday with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Biden: Eyes of the nation are on California

President Joe Biden was in Long Beach to urge Californians to support Gavin Newsom for Tuesday's upcoming Recall Election.

Larry Elder, considered the leading Republican in the effort to replace Newsom, dismissed the high-level support for the governor.

"If Gavin Newsom thinks that flying in Joe Biden and Kamala Harris -- not exactly the most admired government officials at the present time -- will make him look better, that's all you need to know about how oblivious and detached Newsom is from a large majority of Californians."

Biden departs after campaigning for Newsom in Long Beach

President Joe Biden departed Long Beach after campaigning for Gov. Newsom Monday evening.

The Long Beach was part of a three-state trip by Biden, who is also expected to travel to Boise, Idaho, and stop in Sacramento on Monday to assess the impact of wildfires ravaging the region. He is expected to visit Denver on Tuesday.
